Methods and cell lines to improve density of Chicken Embryonic Fibroblasts (CEFs)

Chicken Embryonic Fibroblasts (CEFs) are commonly used in the industry, and as so, methods for improving large-scale industrial cell production are of need, specifically for vaccine production

Opportunity

  • CEF are routinely used to produce vaccines. The proposed technology can be used by pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to develop human and veterinary viral and therapeutic vaccines. The expected increase in yield is up to 40-fold in comparison to current growing methods
  • The cell line is a continuous line of chicken embryo. The cells are free of endogenous sequences related to avian sarcoma and leukosis viruses and have normal fibroblastic morphology. The cells have higher proliferation rate and also can be subcultured infinite number of times
