Research in the dermatology department focuses on the pathogenesis of various skin conditions and research for new treatments. Specific research includes:
The use of antibiotics in dogs with pyoderma and otitis externa in the light of increased antibiotic resistance
The pathogenesis and management of canine otitis externa
At the veterinary hospital, veterinary dermatology research is carried out in two major areas –
Clinical research to gain greater understanding of animal skin disorders
Phase III clinical trials for companies developing veterinary diagnostics and medications
The hospital has permission to work with and provides access to laboratory animals.
