This movie was shown during Yissum's Jubilee celebration on June 10 2014.
Michael Mack, CEO of Syngenta, congratulated Yissum on the occasion of its Jubilee celebration.
The long term partnership between Yissum and Syngenta was originated in 1969, when Yissum signed the first License agreement with Zeraim Gedera, an Israeli seeds company, for the commercialization of new Tomato varieties developed by Prof. Nahum Kedar and Prof. Haim David Rabinowitch from the Hebrew University. The long shelf life of the new Tomato and Cherry Tomato varieties made a revolution in the tomato seeds market and our varieties are considered the world’s most popular cocktail hybrids for year round greenhouse production.
In 1994 Yissum and Zeraim Gedera signed an additional License agreement for the commercialization of new Pepper varieties developed by Dr. Yoni Elkind from the Hebrew University. The licensed varieties became market leaders in Spain, Israel and Mexico, and have strong presence in Morocco, Eygpt and Turkey.
Zeraim Gedera was acquired by Syngenta in 2007 and Yissum continues its fruitful collaboration with the company through Syngenta Israel.
